Clock design not ours. We fabricated the base and clock support arch. Client design, lettering & installation.

The 11 metre-high clock, called Echoes, stands where Market Street, Bethcar Street and James Street meet. It is made of stainless steel and its clock faces have been made to look like pit head wheels to reflect the area’s former steel and coal industries.

The stand on which the clock face sits is shaped like a horse’s neck to illustrate the Welsh translation of Glyn Ebwy – the Welsh name for Ebbw Vale – which means valley of the wild horses.

The Watermark Solution offered the following benefits:

  • Varied and complex fabrication

  • Construction methodology

  • 3D Modelled simulation

  • Collaborative working
